After having worked in the Canadian Banking Industry for some 35 years, I began
looking into options that would fill my time upon retirement.
I knew I wanted something that involved animals.
The question being is what do I want to raise?
After considering various types of livestock, Andrew and
I finally decided that Alpacas were the way to go for us.
They are relatively small and easy to manage, extremely clean,
friendly and as cute as can be. I researched for months on
various web sites, magazines etc and found what I wanted.
The first animals I bought were 6 Dbl Reg'd females. They
arrived at our farm on Indian Mountain, N.B. in May 2006.
Shortly after that I bought 3 males from Ontario. Because
of their bloodlines (Batido,
Guellermo, NGG Lionel, Casanova ), I figured these were the
genetics I needed to improve my herd.
All of our Alpacas are Double Registered Canada/U.S.A.
In December 06 I bought a 35 acre farm and we packed up and
moved to Fredericton Junction, N.B. to be closer to friends
and family. This is where we now call home and we and all
the critters are very content here and we look forward to
growing and improving our herd.
Our mandate is to improve the quality of our herd by breeding
to the best bloodlines with a view to producing the highest
quality fleece and conformation possible. Considering our
foundation stock, we are confident this will come about in
the near future. Have a look at the Fibre Stats of our herd
and we're confident you'll agree they rank right up there
with the best.
Please feel free to drop by and check out not only our Alpacas,
but the Pygmy Goats, our Guard Llama (Trooper), my brother's
Angora Goats, Chickens, Ducks, Geese and whatever else that
may find a new home here.
Just give us a call and Andrew or I will be more than happy
to show you around.
